FAO Launched the book of our University Professor

Recently, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations released a book which was mainly edited by Professor Luo Shiming of our university entitled “Agroecological rice production in China: restoring biological interaction” on the Agroecology Knowledge Hub.
The book systematically summarizes the eight kinds of main mode of rice ecological agriculture in China, (Multi species Intercropping, intercropping between rice and lotus root, crop rotation of rice-rice-milk vetch, crop rotation of rice-rice-duckweed, co-operation between ducks and rice, co-operation between rice and fish, co-operation between rice and frogs, landscape diversity of rice fields) and its specific technical means and measures for its implementation, the implementation of social economic and ecological benefits, cites some typical cases of success.
This book was commissioned by FAO and edited by Prof. Luo Shiming. Huazhong Agricultural University, Zhejiang University, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Yunnan Agricultural University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Prof. Zhang Jiaen and Prof. CAI Kunzheng of our university were participated in the compilation. The book is illustrated by descriptions and pictures and it provides other countries with a convenient and effective way to draw on the experience of rice production of ecological agriculture in China (Full text available at: http://www.fao.org/documents/card/en/c/CA0100EN/). It is reported that Professor Luo Shiming's agroecological master training program based on his years of experience in training agroecological masters has also been adopted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
